Staging NDP at new National Stadium will cost S$39.4m
Singapore
Staging the National Day Parade at the new National Stadium this year will cost more, but more Singaporeans will get to watch it there.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, responding to a query from Vikram Nair (Sembawang GRC), told Parliament that about S$39.4 million is budgeted for the NDP to be held at the National Stadium - not far from the S$40.5 million spent on the 2015 NDP, which was special because it was also part of the celebration of Singapore's 50th anniversary as an independent state.
