Swiss franc falls past 1.05 per euro, down 5% on week
[LONDON] The Swiss franc fell past 1.05 francs per euro for the first time since the Swiss National Bank dumped its 1.2 francs cap two weeks ago on Friday, falling almost another half a per cent in early European deals.
The franc, weakened this week by sustained speculation that the Swiss National Bank is regularly intervening to weaken the currency, also fell to a two-week low of 0.9285 francs per dollar.
The franc has now fallen 5.5 per cent this week against the euro and just under 5 per cent against the dollar.
