Taiwan exports suffer double-digit fall in Jan, but better than Dec
[TAIPEI] Taiwan's exports in January fell by double-digits in percentage terms from year-ago levels, but the fall was not as bad as the 13.9 per cent drop posted in December, Finance Minister Chang Sheng-Ford said.
Mr Chang's comment to reporters on Thursday came ahead of January trade data due out on Feb 16.
The ministry had earlier said it expected January exports to continue to decline on an on-year basis due to a high base last year.
A Reuters poll has forecast a 13.6 per cent drop in exports in January.
