THAILAND'S military-run government will accelerate spending on mass transit, railways and roads to counter falling exports and boost economic growth, the deputy transport minister says.

The ministry will speed up bidding for the construction of mass transit systems in the capital and upgrading railway networks nationwide, Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said in an interview here on Friday. The projects are part of a planned US$91.5 billion investment in the nation's transport infrastructure between 2015 and 2022, he said.
