Thailand's 2014 GDP growth seen at 1.7%: ministry official
[BANGKOK] Thailand's economy is expected to grow 1.7 per cent this year, a pace slower than the Finance Ministry's previous official estimate of 2.0 per cent made in July, a senior ministry official said on Thursday.
The country's exports and investment have not yet recovered, Permanent Secretary Rungson Sriworasat told a seminar.
The ministry is due to release its new forecast later this month. Last week, Finance Minister Sommai Phasee said the government's recently announced measures could lift growth this year to 2 per cent or higher if exports improved. - Reuters
