DPM Teo: Govt has duty to consider public, not individual, interests
Singapore
WHILE he hopes the Lee siblings can resolve their private disagreements within the family, the government still has to carry out its responsibilities objectively, fairly and calmly, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean told Parliament on Tuesday.
"I would like to assure this House, and all the siblings, that on the matters that I have the responsibility to deal with, in particular with regard to No 38 Oxley Road, I will continue to deal with them objectively and fairly, all the time working for the interests of Singapore and Singaporeans," said DPM Teo, who is the chairman of the Ministerial Committee set up to consider the options for the house.
