BOUND for the Lincoln Memorial, thousands of demonstrators ambled block after block through the city, shouting obscenities, their faces streaked with sweat and clown paint.

The marchers, known as Juggalos - the tight-knit supporters of the rap-metal duo Insane Clown Posse - had descended on the capital to proclaim their right to free speech and to denounce their classification by the FBI as a criminal gang.
