Local pro game needs a lift
SIX years ago, Quincy Quek sat among a group of foreign golfers enjoying banter as the rain came pouring down. It was at the main lobby of the Sentosa Golf Club, two days prior to the Barclays Singapore Open.
The Thai and Filipino golfers were praying for the rain to stop to continue their practice for the multi-million dollar national showpiece, the biggest golf event on the local calendar.
Quek had a different prayer, hoping for one golfer from the list of 144 participants to pull out as he was the first reserve.
