Reading: Not Mr Trump's favourite pastime
Unlike other US presidents, he won't be caught with his nose in a book.
TWO months before Donald Trump moves into the White House, we pretty much already know some of the consequences his presidency could portend. For example :
- 2-3 million longsettled (but "dangerous") immigrants could get deported;
- the Trans-Pacific Partnership pact may not materialise;
- the global goal of curbing carbon emissions could be in jeopardy;
- the White House will no longer (at least for the next four years) issue the annual "President's Summer Reading List".
Notice the rather definite "will" in the last item, compared to the tentative "could" and "may" of the rest in the list.
Neither the White House nor the president-elect has officially confirmed it, but from all accounts, that much should be apparent enough…
