Singapore Grand Prix flags off after haze scare

CONCERNS about the haze bringing the eighth edition of the Singapore Grand Prix to a screeching halt proved misplaced as the practice session of the season's only night race flagged off on Friday evening.
Earlier in the week, downpours helped to clear the air of haze that had hung stubbornly over the city-state, pushing the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) reading away from the unhealthy towards the moderate range.
