Singapore's openness made it easy to adapt
Under its clean and efficient shell, Singapore has a real soul, says Cisco Asean president Naveen Menon

EVEN though Singapore's cleanliness and efficiency might be obvious to its visitors, Cisco Systems' Asean president Naveen Menon believes that this slick exterior is not what Singapore is really all about.
Instead, the Dutch citizen of Indian descent believes that the country has a soul which people can very easily miss. Said Mr Menon: "There is a distinct, unique culture here which makes you feel very comfortable, whichever part of the world you come from. It is very easy to acclimatise and build your life here."
He added: "The thing I enjoy the most is the spirit of community and the fact that if you integrate well, and are willing to put in the hard work, you can make a real impact on society."
