Sunmoon add shine to competition

TEAM Sunmoon are like part of the furniture when it comes to the annual Business Times Corporate Golf League competition.

Buoyed by a hat-trick of victories from 2012 to 2014 and title winners in 2016, Team Sunmoon were the name on everyone's lips during the tournament. In the one year that they sat out the event - in 2015 - the league felt a big vacuum because Team Sunmoon had provided the spice to the competition with their active participation on and off the course. Regular sponsors of the event - their food hampers being a permanent feature in the lucky draw at the post-match dinners - Team Sunmoon always gave their main rivals a run for their money.

At this year's event, they led going into the final round, carrying a five-point advantage over Tat Hong - The Crane Boomers. But they slipped at the last leg at Tanah Merah Country Club's Garden course where they scored a poor 98 points against the six other teams in the 12-team event which surpassed the century mark. They eventually came in third in the Open Category, three points behind Team Boustead and Tat Hong - The Crane Boomers, which finished tied at the top of the table. Team Boustead just managed to secure the title on their better score (110 to 106) in the last leg.
