Superstar Lang Lang takes to stage for Sing50 rehearsals
Singapore
INTERNATIONAL pianist Lang Lang is heavily perspiring. In white T-shirt, white sneakers and black jeans folded up to his ankles, he is rehearsing at the National Stadium the new Concerto In Three Movements composed by Kelly Tang, accompanied by the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra.
He wipes his brow every minute when he's not playing. But as soon as conductor Chan Tze Law raises his hand to begin the movement, the same brow is alternately relaxed and knitted as he executes his chords with extraordinary precision.
