SIX days have passed since Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki won the biggest prize of her professional tennis career in Singapore, and I'm still suffering from a terrible case of tennis withdrawal.
Unlike many other major cities, Singapore only gets to enjoy world-class tennis once a year, and how I wish it could be more often. The final two weekends of October are when the stars of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour are in town town to battle it out for glory and a share of US$7 million in prize money.
Last Sunday, the curtain fell on the fourth and penultimate edition of the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global tournament. Unless Singapore gets an extension, the final edition will take place in the Lion City from Oct 21-28, 2018. The Florida-based WTA is expected to announce the venue of the 2019 host city next April.
