AT 37 years of age, Venus Williams is by far the oldest and most experienced competitor among the eight singles players taking part in this week's BNP Paribas Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals Singapore presented by SC Global tournament.
One of the most decorated champions in the sport, she is the third oldest player to qualify for the season finale. Billie Jean King was 39 when she did so in 1983, while Marina Navratilova was 38 in 1994.
