WHEN the world's top female tennis players return to Singapore for their season-ending championships this October, they will have their eyes fixated on a record prize purse that has now ballooned to US$7 million.
This is nearly 10 per cent more than the US$6.5 million that was given out at last year's BNP Paribas Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals, which was the first time that the women tour's showpiece tournament was held in the Republic.
