A PAINTING by Chinese artist Zhang Daqian sold for nearly US$35 million at an auction in Hong Kong on Tuesday, the highest price that one of his works has ever fetched, underscoring strong demand for quality Chinese art despite an overall slowdown in the market.
And, hours later, Sotheby's set another record by selling the De Beers Millennium Jewel 4 for US$31.8 million.
