LOST 1950s and 1960s classics from a legendary Hong Kong film studio founded by two Singaporean brothers are making a rare comeback at the National Museum of Singapore.
The Story of Kong Ngee retrospective aims to shed light on the now-defunct film studio as well as its founders Ho Khee-yong and Ho Khee-siang, whose success is often overshadowed by that of Run Run Shaw of Shaw Organisation and Loke Wan Tho of Cathay Organisation.
At the height of its popularity, the Kong Ngee Film Company had the largest output of Cantonese films in the industry and groomed the likes of Patsy Kar Ling and Patrick Tse Yin into household names.
