EVER thought of trying your hand at playwriting? A new centre launched by the National Arts Council (NAC) called Centre 42 might just meet your needs.
Addressing an industry concern about the lack of competent playwrights here, the NAC announced plans last year to turn 42 Waterloo Street, the former home of Action Theatre, into a centre to develop plays and playwrights.
The centre, which kicks off with its first open call for script ideas on April 7, hopes to nurture established and emerging playwrights and develop new works for Singapore theatre.
