The inaugural Art Apart Fair London exhibits contemporary art in a 'real-life' setting.
SINGAPORE and Asian art have edged a bit more into the UK and European market following the inaugural Art Apart Fair London. A Singapore fair that is based on the concept of showcasing art in hotel rooms, Art Apart Fair ran for three days last weekend, at the Town Hall Hotel in east London which is known for its edgier arty neighbourhood.
While the fair could have drawn a larger crowd, Frieze London's closing weekend notwithstanding, it had two things going for it.
Visitors who dropped by were more than pleasantly surprised at the quality and diversity of the artworks, and also the interesting pop-up "galleries", which were essentially 16 of the hotel's rooms.
