THE moral implications of modern-day drone warfare lie at the heart of Eye in the Sky, a political thriller that asks some necessarily sticky questions about rules of engagement and acceptable levels of collateral damage. It also ridicules the decision-making process, showing - in near-farcical scenes - politicians eagerly passing the buck on life-or-death decisions.

War is hell - not only for people at the wrong end of a missile strike thousands of miles away, but also for the military personnel who actually have to press the buttons deploying those messengers of death.

The film has less sympathy for the politicians who bear the ultimate responsibility, depicting them as gutless bureaucrats more concerned about covering their behinds than making difficult decisions.
