Ageing rock gods make it look easy

THE convention halls on the sixth floor of Suntec City are usually home to the beleaguered City Harvest Church on weekends but the congregation should have turned up on Tuesday if they wanted to see a couple of (rock) gods in action.

Playing their first gig here in 19 years, Def Leppard performed a career-spanning hits-packed set, taking the 7,000-strong crowd on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Despite having a new record out, only two songs (Let's Go and Dangerous) out of 16 came from that recent self-titled release; the rest were culled from their radio-friendly back catalogue which dates back to 1981's High 'n' Dry.
