LEST anybody were to make you believe Aussies are a laid-back bunch with their beer-drinking, BBQ-loving, and beach-going lifestyle, trust Russell Crowe to come along and blow that stereotype out of the water.
Not one to rest on his laurels, he's a bit of a workaholic by Hollywood standards; moonlighting as a rocker with his band The Ordinary Fear of God and running rugby team South Sydney Rabbitohs when he's not in a leading role in front of the camera.
With The Water Diviner, he can now add director to his CV. The epic historic drama, written by Andrew Anastasios and Andrew Knight, and based on the book of the same name, by the former and Dr Meaghan Wilson-Anastasios, also stars Crowe and is set during the aftermath of World War I.
