A W!ld Time

Theatre company W!ld Rice gives a fabulously local spin to the French comedy classic La Cage Aux Folles, also known as The Birdcage. The musical centres on a nightclub host and his partner whose lives are thrown into a tailspin when their son decides to marry the daughter of a conservative politician. Expect a riot of feathers, sequins, mascara, high heels and laughs as W!ld Rice relocates the story to the charming shophouses of Tanjong Pagar and augments the comedy with Singaporean and Singlish jokes. The musical runs at the Victoria Theatre from April 19 to May 13. Tickets from Sistic.
