Green Day Out
Two environmentally-conscious festivals are headed our way. Garden Beats is touted as Singapore's first sustainable music festival. Artists performing at the festival at Fort Canning Park include Youngr Live, Pomo Live, andhim and Hernandez Bros. On the green front, biodegradable cups will be used and food waste from the food vendors composted for fertiliser. Green Is The New Black will host a market featuring sustainability-minded local fashion, art, beauty and lifestyle brands.
UP Fest 2018, Singapore's first upcycling family festival, takes place at Cairnhill CC. Participants will get upcycling starter kits containing materials such as old textiles and plastic packaging, which can be upcycled to create keychains. There will also be free upcycling workshops as well as complimentary snacks and coffee - with the used coffee grounds sent for composting as well.
Garden Beats Festival 2018, The Electronic Picnic Festival is on March 3, from 10am to 10.30pm at Fort Gate, Fort Canning Park. Tickets from ticketflap.com/gardenbats18. UP Fest 2018, is on March 3, 3pm to 7pm at Cairnhill CC. Admission is free.
