Tropicana The Musical is a glitzy star-studded musical that takes audiences back to the swinging '60s when Singapore was, in some ways, more permissive than it is today. Directed by Beatrice Chia-Richmond and written by Haresh Sharma, it looks at the real-life nightclub Tropicana, which opened in 1968 and closed in 1989. In its heyday, the club featured sexy dancers, pop singers and top comedy acts. The cast includes Lim Yu Beng, Brendon Fernandez, Siti K, Ebi Shankara and many others. The musical runs at Capitol Theatre, April 13-30. Tickets from Sistic.
