My Weekend
what people do, why and where as told to Helmi Yusof
NG YI-SHENG POET
"The end of the year is a good time for me, if only for the fact that my mother makes an amazing soup out of the Christmas turkey leftovers. I call it "Bacon Christmas turkey soup" because we traditionally wrap our turkey in bacon to keep the juices in. The turkey is good, but the soup is even better.
This year-end is especially good because my siblings are finally back in Singapore. My brother was working as a hedge fund manager in Boston, my sister was doing her PhD in Yale. But now we get to do things involving the whole family, such as going to movies together.
