Adapted from Mark Haddon's bestselling book, The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-time is an award-winning stage play produced by London's renowned performing arts centre, the National Theatre. The plot revolves around Christopher, a 15-year-old boy with a social disability who is suspected of killing his neighbour's dog. Despite being scared of physical touch and strangers, Christopher must now solve the mystery of who killed the dog and exonerate himself.
Directed by Marianne Elliott (of War Horse fame), the play has been stylishly adapted, with a simple stage converting into various locations through the use of lights and sounds, and a handful of actors playing multiple roles. The Singapore premiere is jointly presented by Singapore Repertory Theatre and the Esplanade.
The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-time plays at the Esplanade Theatre from March 29 to Apr 8. Tickets from Sistic.
