How do you conduct a romance when you have a daily ration of 140 words a day? In Sam Steiner's romantic comedy Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, the government has passed a draconian law to limit the number of words one can speak every day. Freshly-minted couple Bernadette (Tia Guttensohn) and Oliver (Jamil Schulze) must steer through this new restriction in order to work out their budding relationship.
Produced by new theatre company Adeeb&Shai, the play explores the complexity of romance, the preciousness of words as well as the political themes of free speech and democracy.
Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons plays at the Aliwal Arts Centre Multi-Purpose Hall from April 4 - 7. Tickets at S$25 from lemons.docket.sg
