Breast Cancer Foundation raises more than S$500,000 at golf event
The amount will go towards setting up additional support centres this year
BREAST Cancer Foundation (BCF) raised more than S$530,000 at its annual charity golf event on Thursday (May 2).
More than 144 golfers and 50 guests attended the fundraiser at Laguna National Golf Resort Club, which aimed to garner funds to set up additional BCF satellite breast cancer support centres this year.
Into its 10th year, Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen was the guest of honour. He said: “All these women that the Breast Cancer Foundation has helped over the past three decades are proof that this disease can be beaten, and life can carry on.”
The satellite centres will offer those who are diagnosed with access to information and emotional support from healthcare professionals and fellow survivors.
Adeline Kow, general manager of Breast Cancer Foundation, said: “It is heartening to witness the support we have received over the years… and I believe that the funds raised will go a long way in providing the necessary care (to countless survivors).”
