THE Singapore International Festival of Arts is midway through and, judging by the buzz on social and mainstream media, it is clear what the audience and critics' favourite has been so far - The Chorus; Oedipus.
This breathtakingly cool and stylish update of the 2,500-year-old Greek tragedy has all the style and substance of a sleek classic car restored and refitted to look and run like a brand new ride.
Directed by Seo Jae-Hyung, the production retains several hallmarks of the classic Greek theatre play. Yet, at the same time, Seo infuses it with many contemporary touches to make the story as stunning and urgent as it must have been centuries ago.
