Engrossing high-seas drama
WRITER-DIRECTOR JC Chandor couldn't have made a bigger splash with his sophomore feature, All Is Lost, an engrossing one-man high-seas survival drama.
A large chunk of the credit must go to Robert Redford, who despite having so few lines of dialogue they barely fill half a Post-It note, still manages to give a virtuoso performance simply by oozing plenty of screen presence.
Even without a back story (or a name, for that matter), the character the 77-year-old actor plays is a compelling one.
