A sweet silence
ON a brightly lit Sunday morning on Jan 8, enthusiasts gathered for the third and final wine-tasting session that was part of the Charity Wine-Tasting Celebration 90 event.
It featured selected Bordeaux and Burgundy wines from the great 2010 vintage. There could not have been a more eloquent nor convincing confirmation of the greatness of both the vintage and the wines from the selected Châteaux and Domaines from Europe and California.
Fittingly, the last six (of the 24) wines of the session were Pinot Noirs from Rheinpfalz in Germany, Sonoma county in California and Burgundy in France. It would be hard to nominate a more appropriate varietal to conclude a day and a half of tasting wines from some of the finest growers in Europe and California.
