Eco Beef
You may love a good steak but cattle show no love for the environment, thanks to the infamous greenhouse gases caused by their methane emissions. Now, Five Founders has come along as a brand of beef that claims to be Australia's first carbon neutral certified beef. Being 'carbon neutral' means carbon emissions produced by Five Founders from paddock to plate is compensated by activities or initiatives that absorb the same amount of carbon or more. The company reduces its carbon emissions as much as possible and also purchases Australian Government-approved carbon credits to offset remaining emissions, leading to net zero emissions or carbon neutrality. It also allows pastures to be renewed naturally over time. But more important is how the meat tastes, and it's said to be as good if not better than your favourite ribeye.
Five Founders Carbon Neutral Premium Beef is available from RedMart and Ryan's Grocery, 29 Binjai Park.
