Hitting a sweet spot after dinner
IT seemed highly appropriate (last month) to open and decant my last remaining bottle of Taylor's 1927 Vintage Port, a bottle that had been carefully stored for 33 years.

A transparent, deep tawny-brown colour with a glorious, complex, densely rich, astonishingly fresh bouquet of perfectly ripe citrus fruit, with strawberries and oranges against a background of coffee and chocolate. The palate, very rich and sweet, was astonishingly transparent in texture, with a long, lingering sweet finish.
A great port, a lovely after-dinner drink with an equally well-matured Havana.
