THE PROJECTOR
THE Golden Theatre at Golden Mile Tower, with its 1,500 seats, was the biggest cinema in Singapore back when it opened in 1973. At the time, people went there for Chinese movies, and it was a popular haunt until the 90s, when it was split into smaller halls to screen Bollywood films.
It hasn't seen much life in recent months, however, but that's what Pocket Projects - a local creative development consultancy - hopes to change. Its founder Karen Tan said: "It is an interesting building, and you could see there was potential to do a project that could reintroduce this old icon to the public again."
