Networking on the greens for first-timers
THIS year marks Team SAS Institute's first year of participation. Says team captain Tan Poh Choo: "At SAS, we believe that our people are our greatest assets; therefore, keeping our people happy and productive in and out of the workplace is essential. In fielding a team consisting of both SAS staff as well as customers and partners, it allows us to get better acquainted in a relaxed environment which might not be easily achieved in a formal business setting."
She adds: "As we're participating in the social league that is less competitive, we've intentionally included different customers and partners from across industries to play each round with us. Not only are they old friends and avid golfers, but they have also been keen advocates of SAS over the years."
The team has enjoyed the selection of courses as they have added variety and an element of challenge to the rounds. Looking ahead to the final round at Tanah Merah Country Club's Garden Course, Ms Tan comments: "There are no competitive strategies per se, but we're definitely looking forward to an enjoyable round of golf to bond and possibly to tee up on any potential business opportunities!"
She adds: "We're only competing socially, however, upon seeing the tenacity of the teams in the competitive league, who knows we might actually field a competitive team next year!
