Sporty types out there, gear up as France's Decathlon brand, the 'Ikea' of sporting gear and apparel, opens in Singapore and the region.

RUNNING is the cheapest sport, it is said, because all you need are running shoes. Whoever said that must have been a guy, because he clearly hasn't checked the price tags on running bras.

Thankfully, with the "Ikea of sporting goods" Decathlon setting up its flagship store in Singapore, access to reasonably priced sports gear is within reach.

The popular French sporting goods marque will open its 35,000 sq ft store in Chai Chee Technopark in mid-January, making this the flagship store in South-east Asia. It opens a smaller store at City Square Mall in June 2016.
