BT Weekend checks out the latest products that will set aficionados' hearts aflutter.
THIS week marked the 62nd edition of the annual PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. It's the biggest golf industry gathering where PGA professionals, golf buyers and industry leaders will have the opportunity to preview and test the latest products from over 1,000 exhibitors. The good news is that relatively soon after the show, many of the products will be available for sale in the South-east Asian region. The Business Times checked out a few new pieces of equipment, apparel and footwear available this quarter in Singapore.
Nike Golf Vapor Flex & Speed Drivers
BOTH the Vapor Flex and the Vapor Speed drivers feature three key technologies - Nike's FlyBeams, which stiffen the cavity back of the club, a re-engineered Compression Channel that accentuates the spring-like effect across the face to return energy to the golf ball, and FlexLoft 2, which allows the golfer the functionality of five lofts and three face angles within 15 different settings. The Vapor Flex, however, also contains the FlexFlight adjustability system which features a RZN tube with a high-density weight on one end, called the FlightPod.
