ON May 26, a total of 115 golfers teed off on the Singapore Island Country Club's New Course in the Macallan M Masters. This is the second time the event has been held in Singapore and all proceeds were donated to The Breadline Group, a community service comprising volunteers who have a shared concern for the welfare of the old. The S$42,027 raised this year from the game and the charity golf dinner was double last year's amount.
The Macallan M Masters Golf package was priced at S$3,300 and included a game of golf for two and a whisky pairing dinner. Other proceeds came from golfers who pledged S$50 to The Breadline Group to participate in golfing challenges such as the Ultimate Drive, Beat The Pro and Nearest To Bottle, to win a range of premium novelties and whiskies by The Macallan.
The event also saw the unveiling of The Macallan 65 Years Old in Lalique, the final chapter in the Six Pillars Collection, a range of six whiskies created in partnership between The Macallan and Lalique.
