The consistent performers
TAT Hong have been a part of The Business Times Corporate Golf League since it began in 2010, and aside from that first outing, their team - The Crane Boomers - have finished consistently in the top 10 of the competition category each year, and came in third in 2014.
The 2016 edition, however, marks the first time that they have also come in as a sponsor.
Says team captain Michael Ng: "It will give us some exposure to do some advertising for those who do not know Tat Hong. As to whether there is any return on investment, this is just purely developing the bond of friendship with my fellow golfers and to help us relieve stress from our daily work routine."
The Crane Boomers are currently lying in sixth position at the halfway mark with a total of 307 points. Mr Ng believes that this year they have a strong team. "We have been doing well for the last few games, and are looking forward to the next few games. I just want our team to enjoy and have fun and aim for a hole-in-one, just like last year when one of my players had one."
As to whether he wanted to single out any particular player from his team so far this year, Mr Ng replies: "Look out for Lucas Tran (handicap 16). He has been performing very well and he played under par for the last two games which has given a lot of contribution to the team. I am looking forward to his contribution again for the rest of the games."
