Hues of Hope raises funds for The Salvation Army to provide trauma therapy for children
ART auction Hues of Hope, presented by Peace of Art and in aid of The Salvation Army, is raising funds for specialised trauma therapy for children in need.
The objective of the auction is to raise S$250,000 for a dedicated psychologist and counsellor for one year.
Therapy will be provided for children supported by The Salvation Army who have experienced abuse, neglect or parental incarceration.
The auction features 12 resin geode artworks, created by children from The Salvation Army and volunteers from Peace of Art.
With mirrors as the base and geodes as the subject, the children and volunteers engaged in the therapeutic art form of resin pouring to create the artworks.
Eunice Yeo, founder of Peace of Art and organiser of Hues of Hope, said: “Each artwork is a product of collaboration between two children from differing backgrounds – one child from the community and another child from the care of The Salvation Army – working hand in hand.”

Yeo hopes the art will inspire the children and open “doors of possibilities for these children who may have never had such an opportunity”.
The participants are from Peace of Art’s KidsforKids initiative, which encourages children in the community to support children in need.
The artworks will be on exhibition at the lobby of Republic Plaza until Jul 20, with the online auction closing on the same day at 12 pm.
All the funds raised through Hues of Hope will be donated to The Salvation Army and will receive tax deductions of 250 per cent.
Winners of the auction will be announced on Jul 21.
The Salvation Army cares for 500 at-risk children on a yearly basis and provides them with a safe environment, shelter and support.
Peace of Art is a not-for-profit organisation that uses art to impact children in need.
Hues of Hope is held in partnership with City Developments Limited, the owner of Republic Plaza and South Beach, which was also used as an exhibition space for the artworks.
