FOR a veteran jazz pianist like Jeremy Monteiro, collaborations with overseas musicians are nothing new. Nonetheless, he treats each one like it were his first because every joint project is a valuable opportunity to breed "creative thinking and interesting new music".
This time, he is working with jazz musicians from Russia, for the Russia-Singapore Jazz Symphonia which will run at the 700-seater concert hall at School of the Arts (SOTA) later tonight.
It all began when he was commissioned to put together a jazz concert by a Russian businessman named Evgeny Tugolukov.
