Mining rich vein of life experiences
EVERYONE knows it takes a lot of courage to open yourself up to someone and be honest about how you feel. And even more to dig into your past, to examine how you handled people and situations in your life.
Because we all think the same thing - it gives the other party the leverage to cross-examine you, judge you, and maybe even question if you are a decent human being. Now imagine the courage you'd need to do this on a stage, in front of a crowd of 200-odd people, multiple times in one weekend. So hats off to local theatre actress Oon Shu An, whose confessional one-woman show staged last weekend, #UnicornMoment, also marked her stage-writing debut .
Her play was part of the Esplanade's Studio season, where she worked under the direction of Checkpoint Theatre's Huzir Sulaiman and Shiv Tandan.
