Let's go racing
Ferrari's Corse Clienti programme lets owners drive on the race track in some very special models.
BUY any car and when you drive out the showroom, you go your own way. But buy a Ferrari and you get to go racing too. Not quite in the same car you just bought but racing nonetheless. Ferrari Corse Clienti refers to the Italian super sports car maker's Customer Racing programme and there are three ways to go about it. The first is by taking part in the one-make series called the Ferrari Challenge, either in Europe, North America or Asia-Pacific.
All you have to do to enter is to buy a Ferrari Challenge car for 220,000 euros (S$339,482). Based on the Ferrari 458 GTB, the 458 Challenge has the same 570 hp naturally aspirated V8 engine but with a roll cage and definitely no leather on the seats or dash. There is, however, a front splitter and rear wing. The weight-saving measures cut 130 kg off so the 458C tips the scales at 1,280 kg.
After coming out with another 150,000 euros to compete in your respective series for the season, you get to race at the Finali Mondiali, or World Finals, where the world champion is crowned.
