A snapshot of contemporary Mexican cinema
THE Mexican Film Festival returns next week with a new home. Its third edition will be held at popular underground cinema The Projector, which also curated the line-up in partnership with the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore.
The five films have been handpicked by The Projector's programme manager Viknesh Kobinathan, and the selection focuses not just on the diversity of genres but also the depth and breadth of talent that is on the rise in Mexican cinema.
"This being our first partnership, we knew that we wanted a small and tight line-up; which is why we only have five films in the programme - brought down from a long list of close to 30," shares Mr Kobinathan.
