JEFF Bauman is a 27-year-old Bostonian, a happy-go-lucky working-class guy, somewhat of a flake.
His on-off girlfriend Erin Hurley has broken up with him a third time because he "never shows up". Bauman tries to win her back by showing up at the 2013 Boston Marathon with the intention of surprising her at the finish line after her run. Two bombs explode next to him as he waits for her.
