Jazz Reunion
ChromaZone was the resident jazz band of Harry's Quayside Bar from 1992 until 2010. For almost two decades, Singapore music lovers flocked there to enjoy its versatility with different genres such as blues, Motown, R&B and fusion, while still being grounded in jazz.
Unfortunately, a perceived drop in demand for jazz in 2010 led to the band playing less frequently at the bar. Gradually, various members left for other acts and ventures. Now ChromaZone is reuniting for one final show, because drummer Eddie Layman is leaving Singapore for good. The reunion show will take place at Maduro, the jazz listening lounge and bar at Dempsey, as part of Maduro's weekly Saturday live music show. This will be your last chance to listen to what was once an institution of local jazz.
ChromaZone plays at Maduro at 40C, Harding Road, on Aug 24 at 9pm.
