Jazzing up the scene with his soulful baritone
MOVE over Norah Jones and Jamie Cullum, there's a "new" kid in town.
At 45, Gregory Porter is no spring chicken but it has taken the world some time to notice this current jazz hotshot.
He was the genre's best kept secret until Blue Note signed him and released his major label debut Liquid Spirit three years ago. His rise since has been nothing short of meteoric, with the aforementioned record and last year's follow-up Take Me to the Alley both deservedly taking home Best Jazz Vocal Grammys.
