Legendary comedian John Cleese gives DYLAN TAN a sneak preview of his S'pore shows
NO thanks to his hefty US$24.5 million divorce settlement, John Cleese has had to work harder than before in the last couple of years.
By the legendary English actor-writer-comedian's own admission, he led a life of luxury before that; though fans can take heart that his recent return to stand-up comedy is somewhat marked by the need for him to raise as much cash as he can.
Best known for his Monty Python and Fawlty Towers roles, Cleese has also lent his voice to various cartoons including the Shrek franchise, Planes and Legends of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole. He was also co-writer of last year's hit animated film, The Croods.
